Books and Academic Resources

Books have always represented more than academic publications to me; they reflect stages of learning, professional growth, teaching experiences, research questions, and ongoing engagement with the realities of people and communities within our societies. 

These books reflect part of my journey in academic writing, which began in 2009 with the publication of the first edition of Social Work with Persons with Disabilities and Their Families. In the years that followed, much of my focus shifted toward research, academic publishing, and promotion requirements within the university setting.

After being promoted to Full Professor in 2018, I returned with greater focus to book writing and scholarly training resources, particularly in areas where the field of social work in the Gulf and Arab region continues to face a shortage of culturally relevant and practice-oriented references. Since then, my efforts have centered on developing books that align more closely with our social realities, professional needs, cultural identity, and educational contexts.

These works represent an attempt to bridge academic knowledge, professional practice, and culturally grounded understanding within the fields of social work and the social sciences.
